Signed a decree on the transfer of tours canceled due to coronavirus

Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin said that until December 31, 2021, a special procedure for returning funds to tourists for tourism and hotel business is being introduced, a corresponding resolution was signed.

“The Government shall introduce special arrangements in the field of tourism and the hotel business. It will be valid until December 31, 2021. The relevant resolutions have been signed, the prime minister said at a government meeting on July 23.

Mishustin explained that from the moment of publication of the documents within two months, the tour operator is obliged to return the money for the failed trip or hold a new one before the end of 2021.

“The same scheme will apply to hotels if the customer refuses the reservation. And for those who find themselves in a difficult life situation and people over 65, tour operators and hotels are obliged to return the money within 90 days.

The Ministry of Economic Development has prepared a regulation on the peculiarities of execution, change, termination of the contract for the sale of a tourist product concluded until March 31, 2020, inclusively, by a tour operator in the field of domestic, inbound or outbound tourism, or a travel agent selling the product of such a tour operator.
