Association of tour operators of Russia: the opening of Turkey has not knocked down the demand for domestic holidays
Opening of tours to Turkey There are no cancellations, the redistribution of demand in favor of Turkey is insignificant.
Such statistics were announced by ATOR Executive Director Maya Lomidze at a press conference on Wednesday.
We do not see a slowdown in sales of the Russian south; there are no cancellations of tours. There's a little redistribution - mainly at the expense of those who hesitated and waited, they got the opportunity to choose Turkey. In general, we do not see a decrease in tour sales.”
According to ATOR statistics, prices at Russian resorts have not changed yet: “At the same time, in the budget segment – in the budget segment – Russian vacation is 20 percent cheaper.”
Measures of development of domestic tourism due to “cashback” among the Russian audience aroused interest. “The market would have taken these measures in a normal state, and now they are a very big help.”
First, charters to unusual tourist regions – Altai, Baikal, Kaliningrad, Khakassia – “worked”. Second, cashback programs. What we dreamed about for a long time is a return of a part of the tour cost from 15 to 25%, that is, the return is not a penny. Tourists have been actively calling for details and are now "at a low start."
The action starts in August and applies to all regions, except those that are perfectly filled without it. Regions that already receive tourists will connect in the off-season, from October 1.
The main result can be expected next week, when the action will be implemented. We see a huge potential demand, a huge number of calls from tourists that we are ready to pay where.
Maya Lomidze believes that the action, as an incentive tool, works perfectly: it can be repeated in the future.
