Gorno-Altaisk is a gateway to the Altai Mountains and a convenient starting point for organized tours around the city, neighboring districts of the republic and the nearest regions. From here start informative trips and excursions along the Chui tract, to the shores of Teletskoye Lake, to the valleys of Katun and Chulyshman, to the Ukok plateau and to the glacial glades of Aktru, remaining within the region.
In the routes around the city, the most recognizable places are collected: the majestic Belukha Mountain and Chui Squirrels, the turquoise waters of Teletskoye Lake, the steep rock sections of Chulyshman and the famous Shavlinsky and Multinsky lakes.
