ATOR clarifies information for tourists going to Turkey

The Association of Tour Operators of Russia reports that not all travelers who have contacted a sick passenger will be sent to quarantine.

Office of Health TurkeyIf a person with COVID-19 symptoms is detected on an arriving flight, they will be given a free rapid PCR test. The result will be known in up to 4 hours.

In case of a positive result, the passenger will go to the state clinic for examination and treatment.

Yulia Alcheeva, director of the insurance company: “The same rules apply as with chickenpox: even if the patient has de facto recovered, but he did not run out of quarantine, and he missed the flight, the return ticket is to the insurance company.”

In relation to the patient's fellow travelers, an algorithm operates: first, all passengers sitting in two seats in front, behind, on the sides of him will be offered a free test for coronavirus.

In case of a negative result, the tourist sitting next to the patient will continue his usual rest, quarantine does not threaten him.

If the test detects coronavirus in a neighbor of the patient, he, depending on the condition and the presence of symptoms, will be sent to a state hospital (insurance will cover treatment, the cost of a return ticket if he misses the flight), or quarantine (if the disease is without symptoms and treatment is not required).

If a traveler has symptoms of the disease in a hotel, he will be given a free test and hospitalized in a state hospital - the insurance policy of insurance companies in Russia will also apply.
